Dr. Michael Torres graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After several years in general practice, he pursued additional training in veterinary acupuncture and rehabilitation, earning certification as a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) from the Chi Institute.
Dr. Torres practices integrative veterinary medicine, combining the best of conventional treatments with evidence-based complementary therapies. His approach includes acupuncture, therapeutic laser, physical rehabilitation, and nutritional counseling alongside traditional veterinary care.
He has particular expertise in treating performance dogs, managing arthritis and mobility issues, and supporting pets through cancer treatment. Dr. Torres believes in a holistic approach that considers the whole animal—physical, emotional, and environmental factors.
Dr. Torres is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA), the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians (AARV), and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). He lives in Austin with his wife, two children, and their German Shepherd, Rio.
